NPC ELECTRIC’s single-phase pad-mounted transformers can be fully customized to meet your specific requirements. The optional specifications of 100kVA single-phase vertically mounted transformers usually include the following configurations: optional overload protection devices, different voltage ratio configurations (for example, changes in rated voltage), and additional temperature sensors and remote monitoring functions. It is also possible to select housing materials with higher protection levels, such as waterproof and dustproof designs, to adapt to more severe environmental conditions. In addition, options with intelligent control systems and communication interfaces (such as Modbus) may also be provided to enable real-time monitoring and data logging of transformer performance. Optional cooling systems (such as natural cooling or air cooling) and enhanced current transformers can also be customized according to requirements.

Packing and Shipping

100kVA Single Phase Pad Mounted Transformer
Packaging for the 100kVA single phase pad mounted transformer utilizes heavy-duty, fumigated wooden crates reinforced with steel strapping and internal timber cradles to securely stabilize the compartmental tank and prevent shifting. High-density foam padding, vibration-dampening mounts, and corner protectors shield bushings, doors, and fittings from transit impacts, while vacuum sealing, abundant desiccant packets, and nitrogen pressurization protect insulating oil from moisture ingress and oxidation. HV/LV compartments are individually covered, ports tightly sealed, and partial oil drainage ensures safe compliance. Export-compliant labels provide detailed handling instructions, weight distribution, sling points, and hazard symbols for secure worldwide transport.
Shipping logistics are tailored to the transformer's increased capacity, employing specialized lowboy trailers with hydraulic suspension, heavy-duty chains, and full weatherproof tarps for domestic overland routes to guard against environmental exposure. International shipments use flat-rack or open-top containers on ocean vessels with IMO-compliant lashing, bracing, and corrosion inhibitors for prolonged marine transit. Satellite GPS tracking and comprehensive all-risk insurance deliver continuous monitoring and protection. Strict adherence to ANSI, IEEE, and customs regulations accelerates clearance, minimizing delays for the 100kVA single phase pad mounted transformer in global utility projects.
Sustainability principles guide packing, incorporating responsibly sourced recyclable timber and optimized load configurations to reduce carbon emissions. Impact and tilt recorders attached to crates log handling conditions for post-arrival verification and efficient claim resolution. Accessories such as arresters, fuses, gauges, or radiators ship separately with itemized checklists for onsite reconciliation. Experienced carriers specializing in pad-mounted equipment secure necessary heavy-haul permits and follow rigorous safety protocols across diverse road, rail, and maritime routes.
Delivery coordination includes pad foundation alignment guidance, detailed unpacking protocols, oil refilling procedures, and connection torque specifications. Collaboration with installation teams ensures safe handling and rapid commissioning. This end-to-end logistics framework preserves transformer integrity, accelerates deployment, and supports uninterrupted medium-load underground residential and light commercial power reliability.

Manufacturer Test

100kVA Single Phase Pad Mounted Transformer
100kVA Single Phase Pad Mounted transformer Progress Test

Progress Test

NPC Electirc manufacture pad mounted transformer have the strict quality control. Progress testing of 100kVA single-phase vertically mounted transformers usually includes verification of key transformer performance to ensure that they meet design specifications and safety standards. Tests include, but are not limited to: no-load test (check no-load current and voltage), load test (verify performance under rated load), short-circuit test (detect temperature rise and current under short-circuit conditions), and insulation strength test (ensure the reliability of the insulation system). In addition, oil temperature test, mechanical strength test and electrical safety test will be performed. All test results will be used to evaluate the function and reliability of the transformer to ensure its stability and safety in actual operation. Oil batch certification confirms dielectric strength exceeding 35kV and controlled moisture/acidity. Enclosure compartmental welds undergo penetrant and ultrasonic inspection for hermetic integrity, while pad mounting base experiences dimensional accuracy and load capacity trials.

Transformer Factory Acceptance Test

NPC Electric will tests made for quality control by the manufacturer on every device or representative samples.

The Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) of the 100kVA single-phase vertically mounted transformer is to ensure that the transformer meets all technical specifications and quality requirements before leaving the factory. The main test items include: no-load test (check no-load current and voltage), load test (verify performance under rated load), short-circuit test (detect current, temperature rise and loss under short-circuit conditions), and dielectric strength test (ensure the reliability of the insulation system). In addition, temperature rise test, load loss and no-load loss tests are also performed to evaluate the energy efficiency performance of the transformer. Mechanical structure inspection, grounding protection and protection level verification are also part of the acceptance test. All test results will generate a detailed report to ensure that the transformer meets the design requirements and has safe and stable operation performance.

Routine Test - Transformer Turns Ratio/TTR (All Tap Voltages)

Purpose of Testing
The purpose of the transformer turns ratio (TTR) test is to confirm whether the voltage ratio between each tap of the transformer meets the design requirements and ensure that the transformer winding is connected correctly. By measuring the voltage ratio of each tap, it is possible to detect whether there is a fault or deviation in the transformer winding.
Testing Equipment
TTR tester: such as Doble, Megger, Omicron and other brands of transformer winding ratio tester.
Voltage source: usually AC 10 V to 30 V , used to test different voltages for each tap.
Temperature and humidity meter: used to record environmental conditions during the test to ensure test accuracy.
Current probe: used to measure the load current of the winding and ensure the accuracy of the test results.
Pre-Test Preparation
Disconnect all transformer tap-changers from the power supply and ensure that all equipment is properly grounded and discharged.
Perform the test under suitable environmental conditions: relative humidity below 75% and no rain (recommended temperature: 20-30°C). Avoid high humidity or bad weather that may affect the test accuracy.
Test Progress
Perform the test under suitable environmental conditions: relative humidity below 75% and no rain (recommended temperature: 20-30°C). Avoid high humidity or bad weather that may affect the test accuracy.
Measure and Record
Start the test and record the following parameters:
The voltage ratio between the windings
Deviation of the measured value from the rated ratio
Temperature Correction
If necessary, perform temperature correction on the measured turns ratio data (especially when testing at higher or lower temperatures). Generally, the standard reference temperature for temperature correction is 20°C.
Repeat Testing (if necessary)
Test the transformer's windings of different voltage levels (high voltage, medium voltage, and low voltage) separately to ensure that the turns ratios of all windings are normal.
Evaluation Criteria (Reference)
Turns ratio error ≤ 0.5% (pass)
0.5% < Turns ratio error ≤ 1% (caution)
Turns ratio error > 1% (further inspection or corrective action required)
*These comprehensive tests ensure that each transformer meets performance standards and operates reliably under various conditions.
